Beat 'n Blow is a very energetic 9-piece marching band from Berlin playing acoustic dance music arranged for voices, horns and drums. With a singer, two drummers, two trumpets, tuba, trombone and two saxophones, the band creates a unique sound and live experience that leaves no audience untouched. They are back at the Jazz Festival by public demand – a stunning, very dynamic band that has many Cork fans. Lots of funky music ahead.
It’s great that this terrific band from Tilburg, Holland, is celebrating its Jubilee Year in Cork – a city and Jazz Festival that has enjoyed the happy and fun-filled jazzy sounds of this superb ensemble, which is one of Europe’s top street bands, on many occasions. The Lamarotte have a diverse programme of jazz classics but add something special to what they do – great humour, classy sounds and that special Dutch feeling of joy and fun. Back in Cork with a bang – unmissable.
New York Brass Band are North Yorkshire’s only contemporary New Orleans inspired Brass Band. Hailing from the ancient streets of York, the band is part of a funky brass revolution that is sweeping the UK. Inspired by Rebirth Brass Band, Soul Rebels, Hot 8, Youngblood and Brassroots, NYBB pack a powerful punch of relentless drums, rumbling tuba and wailing horns… nothing kicks a party into gear like the sound of a smokin’ New Orleans Mardi Gras Jazz Band.
